چکیده
Global cloud resolving models (GCRMs) are a new type of general circulation model that explicitly calculates the growth systems with fine spatial resolutions and more than 10 GCRMs have been developed at present. This work reviews microphysics schemes used in introductions to recent progress researches GCRMs. Especially, research using pioneer GCRMs, Nonhydrostatic ICosahedral Atmospheric Model (NICAM), is focused. Since deal climatology meteorology, it challenging issue establish for A brief history development cloud-radiation coupling NICAM described. In addition, current analytical techniques satellite simulators The combined use multi-optical sensors enables us constrain uncertain processes without artificial tuning. As result, naturally represent systems, hence, radiative budget well balanced little optimization. Finally, ground validation campaign introduced future work.

Cloud Tracking in Cloud-Resolving Models
In recent years Cloud Resolving Models (CRMs) have become an increasingly important tool for the study of convective phenomena. CRMs should not be regarded as simply providing surrogates for observations; rather, they allow idealized but realistic simulations to be produced which provide a laboratory for the careful diagnostic analysis of generic convective systems. Such analysis is a distincti...
متن کاملAtmospheric Electricity and Cloud Microphysics
The terrestrial atmospheric electrical system covers a range of dimensional scales, from charged molecular clusters to convective cloud systems. Charge-exchange associated with thunderclouds leads to positive charge in the upper conductive regions of the atmosphere and a net negative charge on the planetary surface. In non-thunderstorm regions, a vertical ionic current flows, replenishing the a...
متن کاملCloud Resolving Modeling
One of the most promising methods to test the representation of cloud processes used in climate models is to use observations together with cloud-resolving models (CRMs). CRMs use more sophisticated and realistic representations of cloud microphysical processes, and they can reasonably well resolve the time evolution, structure, and life cycles of clouds and cloud systems (with sizes ranging fr...
متن کاملEfficient data IO for a Parallel Global Cloud Resolving Model
Execution of a Global Cloud Resolving Model (GCRM) at target resolutions of 2e4 km will generate, at a minimum, 10s of Gigabytes of data per variable per snapshot. Writing this data to disk, without creating a serious bottleneck in the execution of the GCRM code, while also supporting efficient post-execution data analysis is a significant challenge. This paper discusses an Input/Output (IO) ap...
